Tennis USTA, October, 1990, Peter Horner, "Twins Peak, A Bevy of Talented Twins Has the Tennis World Seeing Doubles".

" . . . . . Consider the case of the Bryan family of Camarillo, Calif. Wayne and Kathy Bryan are the understandably proud parents of Mike and Bob, a set of 12-year-old identical twins playing the sometimes tempestuous waters of the national junior tennis circuit. Like their heroes, the Gulliksons, the Bryan twins are mirror images of each other; Bob plays left handed, Mike plays right handed. Get them off the tennis court and it’s almost impossible to tell them apart."

"The Bryan twins not only look alike, they have enjoyed nearly identical successes. Throughout their relatively brief competitive career, they have always been ranked within a notch or two of each other. According to Wayne, they swap places on the totem pole virtually every tournament. When one posts a good win over another player, his twin almost always seems to suffer a disappointing loss to someone else in the other half of the draw. The scenario is repeated, with the twins trading roles, on a regular basis. All of which makes for some interesting rides home."

"’They’re 12 years old,’ says Wayne. ‘They have a hard time keeping it in perspective. On that ride back from Long Beach, one guys is whistling all the way while the other guys has tears in his eyes.’"
