NEWPORT IS THE THIRD DOUBLES TITLE FOR THE BRYAN BROTHERS
07.2001

The Bryan Twins continued their hot streak of winning Queens and reaching the semis of Wimbledon by taking the Championship at the Miller Lite Hall of Fame Tennis Championships at Newport. In the finals Mike and Bob beat their music buddies, Andre Sa-Glenn Weiner, 6-3, 7-5.

In the first round they beat Brier-Drake, a local college Wild Card Team, 6-3, 6-0, and then in the second round they defeated Kevin Kim-Gavin Sontag, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3. Against the tough South African tandem of Robbie Koenig-Neville Godwin in the semis, the Bryans won 6-3, 6-4.

Following the Newport event, the boys took a week off to recover from some niggling injuries and to rest for the LA Event.
